Coriolis Solutions Expand with New Mass Flowtube

May 28, 2015 —Schneider Electric has introduced a new advanced generation mass flowtube to its Foxboro® Field Devices’ Coriolis Solutions, offering high accuracy, reliability and performance.

The CFS25 mass flowtube joins the product family and uses the same proven Coriolis principles. It works with the CFT51 digital Coriolis mass transmitter to form the Foxboro Mass Flow and Density Meter.

By providing direct measurements of both mass flow and density, the CFS25 delivers high accuracy and eliminates the problems of multiple process measurements associated with volumetric flow devices.

Using digital signal processing (DSP), the CFS25 improves flowmeter performance, particularly during two-phase flow, partial empty tube conditions and batching from empty operations.

Other design improvements in the CFS25 include computer modeling, remote communications, automated manufacturing processes, construction and testing, according to the company.

The new advanced generation CFS25 flowmeter builds on the superior offerings by Foxboro ® Coriolis that provide solutions to real-world process fluid flow applications, helping customers improve productivity and profitability,” said Wade Matar, Product Manager for Coriolis.

This Coriolis flowmeter is not sensitive to varying process conditions. In addition to accurately measuring liquid it also can be used in applications with entrained air, non-Newtonian fluids, viscous and abrasive fluids, slurries and liquefied gases.

Among the benefits delivered by CFS25 are: reduced erosion due to high accuracy at realistic nominal velocities, immunity to external pipe vibrations, low pressure loss and greater flowtube reliability from its advanced finite element analysis.
